My House is part of iShareMaps Location Server. Simply put members of the public can enter their address and find out about services and information around their house. Examples of these are listed below:

• Electoral Details – who the Parish and Borough councillors are

• Local School Catchments Areas

• Planning Applications nearby

My House is the fast route to information about local services centred on where people live. Using a Council’s website a citizen simply enters his or her address and is immediately presented with a map indicating their property location. The page lists details of local services and facilities for example, schools, re-cycling centres, libraries, leisure centres, polling stations and any other local facilities, plus the distance from the citizen’s address. A further click locates the facility on a detailed map of the area.

Because iShareMaps adheres to web and accessibility standards Councils can be sure that those using screen readers and applications such as the Lynx Text browser will still be able to have full access to My House information.  This helps to reduce the impact of the the Disabled Discrimnation Act.
