| Data Share - Share your information with the citizen |

|
Date Share, historically used to allow for non spatial lookups from back office databases, now sports a new workflow module so that data can be manipulated to perform spatial queries on the fly for a particular use elsewhere. For example, at Surrey Heath data is spatially manipulated (though some intelligent land parcel buffering) through a workflow to ensure that a citizen only sees planning applications relevant to his or her property. Built using tasks and scheduled jobs (which automatically email the administrator if issues are encountered) makes iShareMaps even more capable of producing rich citizen focussed solutions Features and Benefits include: • Link any non spatial data - securely · Central database • to store information from different ‘silos’ • Ability to have live or scheduled the retrieval • Server process accessing data not website – increase security · Data access • Load data from any external database via ODBC • Load and display any XML feed – Web Services (GeoRSS, RSS etc) – Output from other systems i.e. Road works · Lowers overheads • Supplied with open source database – PostgreSQL – complete solution • No need for additional web licences for systems - reduces costs • Single database connections - increases security, reduces complexity • Workflow · Build different types of tasks • Spatial Data Transformations • Run custom VB Scripts • Run custom Stored Procedures · Build Scheduled Jobs • Build jobs with dependant and non dependant tasks to massage data for use by members of the public • Uses Windows Scheduled Tasks to guarantee security, execution schedules etc • Advanced Gazetteer Searching · Build address lookups from any LLPG · Optimized for Speed for address searching and Unique Id lookups · Has advanced word ranking taking into account number of occurrences and closeness of words in the address • Transaction Fault Reporting · Allows for previous ‘faults’ to be shown to users from the Data Share Spatial Database · Fully integrates with online e-Forms packages such as AchieveForms

Integration, so long the bugbear of organisations with multiple systems, is becoming easier and can mean huge cost savings for councils. Data Share, the optional module for iShareMaps can now integrate with ESRI CAPs/ArcSDE . The savings accrue from the fact that Councils do not have to pay additional software licenses for web delivery of their exsiting data. Data Share effectively sucks data out of the corporate data store and then caches it into a separate open source database for use by iShareMaps. Key applications remain completely unaffected and secure because Data Store caches the data to another data store it provides a resilient solution for public facing applications especially services delivered to the public by Council websites.
