On time and on budget, we've just completed the development of a Neighbourhood Policing product powered by iShareMaps Location Server for Cleveland Police Authority.

The solution enables Neighbourhood Police Officers to quickly find out about incidents and crimes that have occured within their areas via a Web Browser. 

Access is restricted to the authorised officers who are presented with a simple filter dialog to:

1. Select the type of information (Incidents or Crimes - Validated, Occured or Reported)
2. The area to look at - typically one or more ward
3. The date period - up to a full year

iShareMaps then presents the map with the data, a detailed results browser with links to other systems and a Neighbourhood Summary which includes a time based graph highlighting types of incidents or crimes for the given area(s)

Officers can Print maps to scale and their Neighbourhood Summary for taking out to community meetings etc.

Data is updated from a variety of sources with Incident and Crime data being rebuilt every 3 hours through Data Share - this way officers can now always be 'in the know' of what is going on in their neighbourhood. 

 In developing the solution the business objectives were:

• A fast, resilient solution available to any number of users, regardless of location
• Regular, automated  updates of data from a variety of systems
• Extremely easy to user - due to the number of officers, user training isn't an option
